Commission across every agency, prices across every state.
The problem. Bascule writes business through agencies across 48 states, so finance needs each agency's commission and payments, and underwriting needs policies and prices state by state. The data starts in FileMaker, which is built for running policies one at a time, not for adding up thousands of them.
The approach. We set up Qlik as the reporting engine on top of FileMaker, for commission, payments, policies and prices by state. As PolicyHub grows, the reports Bascule's team uses every day are built into it, on the same records the team works from.
PolicyHub's commission analytics, rebuilt with invented figures: the filters; payments received, Bascule's margin, the effective commission rate, agencies with activity and the top five agencies' share for the last twelve months; agent commission month by month against the year before; the split of payments between agent, Bascule and reinsurer; and commission by agency, by division and product.

Each new report is built on the records the team already works in, so the numbers and the work never drift apart.
